Driving licence received back

Ongelezen bericht door Ahmad »

My driver's license was confiscated by the police because I was driving Under influence of alcohol.

However, today I received my driver's license back after 4 months by post

The driver's license came with a letter stating that my driver's license has been returned, but the following text was at the bottom:

"The public prosecutor reserves the right to demand a (un)conditional driving ban at the hearing in due course."

What does this mean

Best regards

You have your driverslicense back for now. It seems that the public prosecutor wants to bring this case before a judge. In that case it is possible that the public prosecuter will ask the judge to issue a driving ban despite the fact that the public prosecutor just gave your license back.

The District Attorney can still demand a disqualification from driving at trial. If this is the case, the time the driver's license was withheld will usually be drawn from that.
